The architects and designers Sonja Nagel (born 1972) and Jan Theissen (born 1972) founded ANT Atelier Nagel Theissen in 2004 in Stuttgart. Sonja Nagel graduated from the Department of Architecture and Design at the Academy of Fine Arts (ABK) in Stuttgart. Jan Theissen initially studied industrial design at the University of Fine Arts in Saarbrücken and the Design Academy in Eindhoven before he studying architecture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from the Department of Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts (ABK) in Stuttgart. In 2010 Sonja Nagel, Jan Theissen and Björn Martenson (born 1966), who graduated in the Department of Architecture from the RWTH in Aachen, founded AMUNT-Architekten Martenson und Nagel Theissen in Aachen and Stuttgart. The house JustK in Tubingen was their first joint project. They were honoured with the Weissenhof architecture award for young architects in 2010, with the AR Award in 2011, the Hugo-Häring-Preis in 2012 and the German Architekturpreis in 2013. Within the exhibition ›Reduce/Reuse/Recycle‹ their project ›Schreber‹, a redevelopment and extension of an existing miners` house was presented in the German Pavilion at the Architecture Biennale in Venice.
