Porto Academy will not be liable for any losses (included, but not limited to: travel and accommodation costs) arising as a consequence of any modification or cancellation of studio and lectures time-tabling constraints as set out above beyond the cost of the summer school.
Porto Academy is authorized to use any pictures or videos that will be taken by Porto Academy authorized staff during the summer school for educational purposes and to promote Porto Academy.
Porto Academy reserves the right to amend or cancel a guest (studio or lecture) or change studio and lecture location and dates.
If an announced guest misses a lecture, a studio or a master class Porto Academy is responsible for a suitable replacer and will do it accordingly to what it is best for the students’ benefits.
Lecture and master class postponement/re-scheduling by Porto Academy. If a lecture or a master class is postponed for reasons in which Porto Academy is responsible, including staff illness, Porto Academy will make every reasonable effort to reschedule the class.
Porto Academy aims to present its students with the quality announced in the program, but it is not responsible for not fulfilling the expectations of the students.
Porto Academy shall not be liable for any failure or delay in the summer school, in whole or part, of any of our obligations arising from or attributable to acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond our reasonable control.
Porto Academy reserves the right to make any changes that in Porto Academy absolute discretion are considered necessary or appropriate for reasons of operational efficiency or due to any other circumstances that are beyond our control.
Students having special mobility or other kind of special need should inform Porto Academy during registration in order to provide with the best solution to make the summer course a comfortable experience.
Students shall not leave any personal belongings unattended inside studio’s room or lecture’s room. Porto Academy cannot be held responsible for any thefts or damage that might be caused to students’ personal belongings.
Studio selection. Studio selection is made after registration and confirmation of payment.
Students will be assigned a studio, accordingly to their preferences. Please note that registration is only confirmed after payment is complete.
The student will fulfill a registration form with the name of the workshop leaders and select the studios by order of preference.
The first option will be considered unless the number of the students exceeds the vacancies of each studio. When this happens, a sortition will be made so students will be placed on their second option.
In the end, all the classes should have the same number of students.
Porto Academy reserves the right to close the enrolments to one or more studios by considering the number of the students already enrolled.
During ‘Check in’, studio distribution is announced. Porto Academy students are only allowed to change if they find a direct switch with other student.
Each studio is composed of a Workshop Leader, an Assistant, one Porto Academy’s collaborator and 20 students.
The Workshop Leader is responsible for defining the workshop theme, its aims and its process. The Workshop Leader will assist the students’ work, arranging the final presentation together with the Assistant and the students and resume it in a booklet.
The Assistant is responsible for advising and participate together with the Workshop Leader. The Assistant will give assistance to the students regarding their studio project.
The Porto Academy’s collaborator is responsible for giving assistance to the Workshop Leader and Assistant, and to give general support for the students.
The Workshop Leader, Assistant and students are responsible for the cleaning of the room on the last day of Porto Academy.
Any class, activity or expenses regarding the studio work made outside the Faculty campus are not of responsibility of Porto Academy.
Porto Academy will provide a plotter for printing. Any special request should be submitted from the studio’s Workshop Leader or Assistant, until two weeks prior to Porto Academy and is liable to Porto Academy acceptance.
Porto Academy will provide basic tools for the production of models (e.g. rulers, cutters, etc.); any special request should be submitted from the studio’s Workshop Leader or Assistant, until two weeks prior to Porto Academy and is liable to Porto Academy acceptance.
We strongly suggest that participants should bring their personal electronic equipment and other that they find important (e.g. digital camera, laptop, special drawing material, etc.).
Booklets are in A5 format, vertical, black & white, with 20% maximum of pages in color.
Booklets should include teacher name, assistant’s name, students’ name; small text explaining the aim of the studio work and small text with Porto Academy presentation.
The design and content of the booklet is from the entire responsibility of the teacher, assistant and students.
Porto Academy has the copyrights for publication of the booklets.

Booklets are delivery to the Porto Academy organization to be printed.
Lectures are held every week day at 10 a.m. and 19 p.m. in the auditorium Fernando Távora. Some lectures may take place in other venues in the city. When this happens, the transport is at the students's expenses.
On the last day of Porto Academy, there will not be a lecture. This day will be for the students’ final presentation. Students are advised to be on time in the auditorium.
Porto Academy aims to be a pleasant and relaxed summer course; some delays are possible within the reasonable time.
Between lectures a small coffee break is held. Please try to not to take too long on coffee break.
5 minutes after the beginning of a lecture or a master class, the main doors of the auditorium will be closed and students are advised to use the back door preventing the interruption of the lecture.
Porto Academy advises not to eat inside the auditorium.
