Christoph Gantenbein (*1971) studied architecture at ETH Zurich. Together with Emanuel Christ, he founded Christ & Gantenbein in Basel in 1998. Their built work includes the renovation and expansion of the Swiss National Museum in Zurich as well as of the Kunstmuseum Basel (both 2016). Christoph Gantenbein taught at HGK Basel (2002–2003), Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio (2004, 2006, 2009), Oslo School of Architecture and Design (2008), ETH Zurich (2010–2015) as well as at Harvard GSD (2015–2017, 2021). From 2008 to 2017 he was member of the managing board SIA Basel. In 2018 Christoph Gantenbein was appointed Full Professor of Architecture and Design at ETH Zurich.
